This past Saturday in both the Mahady and Suraci Galleries the Art Therapy, Graphic Design, and Illustration Seniors were able to showcase their best works before graduating this spring. Graphic design major Danae Drews, looks back on her years here at Marywood and appreciates “the ability to show off all my work in the end with all the people I love. The teachers who I deeply respect and respect me, wanting me to do my best has been the best thing. I feel I’ve grown so much.” These artists along with their mentors at Marywood have helped guide them by finding their personal style and biggest takeaways as artists in today’s world. “I pull interests from many different areas, but more recently from nature. My color palette near the end was mountain inspired” stated Graphic Design Major, Allison McDermott. Taking these lessons learned for the future Drews would love to be in Art Direction. “I would be able to get my hands in everything from package design, digital photo, and utilizing everything I can.” Despite the similarity in majors, all these seniors exhibited there is much more to each discipline and the person behind the masterpiece. “Always do your work on time and always do the best you can” McDermott encourages.
