Marywood’s Centennial class will be graduating this May, and this special milestone has prompted some special events.

In year’s past the Student Government Association (SGA) seniors would plan out a week of events, but students this year found it to be more valuable to have just two main events. This year’s theme is “Senior Send Off.”

“We wanted to make it easier for seniors to attend two main events,” said senior president of SGA Alexander Fallek, double major in financial planning and business management.

According to Fallek, SGA wanted to focus on two main events because in past years it has been difficult to generate enough interest in multiple events.

The bingo and brunch will be free for all graduating seniors. Prizes include Walmart, Pier 1 and Amazon gift cards amongst others that are all up for grabs. SGA selected these prizes to assist students with moving on from college and setting up their professional lives.

“It has been a long, stressful four years filled with hard work, but I have learned  a lot and made a lot of great memories,” said Ashley Padula, senior broadcast journalism major. “I am most looking forward to the senior formal with my fellow seniors.”

At senior formal hors d’oeuvres, dinner, party favors and dancing will all be available for students. Tickets went on sale April 7 and cost $20 for one ticket, $30 with a guest.

“I’m looking forward to it because it will be the last time all the graduates are able to be together in one place before moving on to jobs, schooling, and other pursuits seniors move on to,”  concluded Fallek.
