One of the nine faculty members who was told their contract would not be renewed for next year has been reinstated because of a vacancy in the English department, according to an email obtained by The Wood Word.

Dr. Erin Sadlack, associate professor and chair of the English Department, author of the email, said Dr. Laurie McMillan, associate professor of English, has accepted a position as Chair of the Department of English & Modern Language Studies at Pace University starting next fall.

“We will miss her terribly, but wish her all the very best of success,” said Sadlack.

According to Sadlack, because McMillan is leaving the department, the administration reinstated Dr. Lauren Esposito, associate professor of English and one of the nine faculty members told their contract would not be renewed.

“I am delighted to announce that Dr. Esposito will be staying on at Marywood and ensuring our Writing Major will continue to flourish,” said Sadlack in the email.
