Fred David Romines, D.M.A., associate professor of music education and co-chairperson of the Music, Theatre and Dance department, received an invitation to present at to the upcoming Collegiate Band Directors National Association Eastern Division Convention.

The convention is scheduled for March 7, 2018 at Yale University.

At the convention, Romines will share with other band directors how the Marywood music program has grown in the past eight years.

“We’re the strongest we’ve been since I’ve been here, between the progress of numbers [of music majors] and the quality,” said Romines.

Recordings of the Marywood Wind Ensemble, with pieces such as “Blue Shades” by Frank Ticheli and “Requiem” by David Maslanka, will be shared at the conference.

“Recordings are a resource for other schools’ directors to learn repertoire for smaller programs,” Romines continued. “It’s a chance for other schools to hear our active music involvement.”
