Student Success offices move to Learning Commons
October 7, 2017
Marywood’s Student Success offices moved from the Liberal Arts Center to the Learning Commons for the fall 2017 semester.
The offices of Disability Services, Retention and Advising, Career Services and the Tutoring and Writing Centers are now located in the Learning Commons.
Meghan Cruciani, assistant vice president of student success, explained the process for moving locations.
“It was decided that [the Learning Commons] would be a great spot for all of the other offices when tutoring and disability services first moved. It was a way to keep us all together,” Cruciani said.
David Schappert, director of library services, said the move was immediately beneficial for students.
“It’s easier for students to get back and forth now,” Schappert said.
Cara Pohida, a senior psychology major and Spanish tutor, said she sees both positives and negatives in the change of location of the Tutoring Center, specifically with the drop-in center where students don’t have to make an appointment to meet with tutors.
“The drop-in center is really accessible now,” Pohida said. “It’s more of an open space now, but it does tend to get really loud.”
All office room locations are now updated on marywood.edu/success.
