Marywood’s 2018 graduating class from the Master of Science program in speech-language pathology has achieved a 100 percent pass rate on the Praxis Examinations in Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology.
The American Speech-Language-Hearing Association requires that all candidates vying for certification as speech-language pathologists pass the examination.
All of the graduates passed the examination on their first attempts.
Communication Sciences and Disorders (CSD) Department Chairperson and Graduate Program Director Andrea Novak said the department’s faculty are very proud of the graduates.
“Over the years we have seen our students grow academically, clinically, professionally and personally, and so to have them all reach the point where they are now eligible for national certification from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association is extremely rewarding,” said Novak.
The CSD department has a three-year average of 100 percent for their graduates passing the examination within one year of graduation.
