Dr. Frances Zauhar is leaving her post as Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences and will remain a member of faculty as an Associate Professor of English and Director of the Core Curriculum.

Zauhar’s tenure as Dean will end on June 30. She held the position for seven years.

In a letter to her colleagues, Zauhar said she is grateful for the opportunity to serve in the position.

“I am so grateful for the opportunities I’ve had as Dean here at Marywood; they have been deeply rewarding in so many ways, both professional and personal,” said Zauhar in an email. “I look forward to continuing to work with my friends and colleagues in this program.”

Starting in the fall, Zauhar will also serve as Director of the Core Curriculum. As part of her new position she will work with groups across campus to pilot and review components of the new core curriculum. After the core is put into effect she will work with the delivery of it as it matures.

Provost Dr. Susan Turell said she will soon announce a plan to examine options for a smooth transition of duties this summer.
