After nearly a year of uncertainty, Keystone College has announced its appeal has been cancelled and their accreditation will carry on.
In November 2024, Keystone’s accreditation was removed by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education. In December 2024, Keystone applied for an appeal. The college’s status now falls under “non-compliance show cause.”
This new status allows them to return to recruiting and enrolling new students, which they have been unable to do over the last few months. Marywood has enrolled at least 25 Keystone students as part of a teach-out plan that Keystone had to implement.
Keystone President John F. Pullo in an email to students and faculty on Friday said, “We still have much work to do together as we make progress toward a brighter future for Keystone! We are grateful for your continued support. We are especially thankful for our students who continued to stick with us!”
Pullo understands the school is not completely out of the woods but appreciative of Keystone’s status. The college now has a Sept. 2 deadline to submit a detailed report showing the Middle States Commission on Higher Education long-term compliance.
