NFL Predictions
As week one of the 2021 NFL season kicks off, many fans are excited to see how their favorite teams will do this season in comparison to last. Here are my predictions for who will win each division in the NFL as well as potential playoff teams.
AFC East
The AFC East was won by the Buffalo Bills last year, and I think they will repeat this year. The Bills have a very strong offensive core led by rising superstar quarterback, Josh Allen, who finished in the top 10 for all passing statistics last year. The Bills also have a very strong defense to help their offence keep leads throughout the year. They may have a pretty tough schedule, but I think that the rest of the division will not be able to catch up to the Bills when they start rolling.
AFC West
Much like the Bills, I think we will see another repeat division champion in the Kansas City Chiefs. What can I say about the Chiefs that has not been either said or seen on TV? They are just a complete team with a stacked offense and a very solid defense. It also really helps that they are led by the best football player of this generation, and former MVP, Patrick Mahomes. It also helps that they will be very motivated after losing in this past Super Bowl.
AFC North
The AFC North could be a very interesting division this year, but in my opinion, the Cleveland Browns will walk away with the division title. I think that they fixed their biggest issue by drafting amazing defensive players like Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah and Greg Newsome II. These two defenders both won awards such as being named first team all Big 10 and the Butkus Award in college. They also will have the backing of one of the best fan sections in all of sports with the Dawg Pound.
AFC South
I think that the AFC South may be one of the easier predictions to make. I think the Tennessee Titans should easily win the division. They are coming off of an impressive 11-5 record, which I can see them repeating this season. Overall, the rest of the division is pretty weak, and I believe that the new offensive core of Ryan Tannehill, A.J. Brown, Derrick Henry and new addition, Julio Jones will be just too much for everyone else in the AFC South.
NFC East
The NFC East is probably the weakest division in the entirety of the NFL, but if I had to bet on the division winner, I would bet on the Washington Football Team. While their offense may be weaker than some teams, I think they have one of the best defenses in the entirety of the NFL. They have even been ranked number two overall by Sports Illustrated. Because of this, I think Chase Young will lead them to the top of the Division and back to the playoffs.
NFC West
I think that the NFC West may be the most difficult prediction in the NFL. Each team did a lot this offseason to really spice things up. The team I think made the best moves was the Arizona Cardinals, and I think they will take the division as well. Signing a player like JJ Watt will surely help their inconsistent defense and lead them to more wins this year. I also believe that the Kyler Murray and DeAndre Hopkins connection will be lethal again after last year’s impressive season where Hopkins was 2nd in the league in receptions.
NFC North
I think the NFC North will see a repeat winner this year. After last year’s 13 win season, I think reigning MVP, Aaron Rodgers, will want to show that he still cares and still wants to win with the Green Bay Packers. I also think that there are some troubling quarterback issues for the rest of that division that will greatly help the Packers succeed.
NFC South
Tom Brady is the greatest quarterback of all time and will lead the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to a division title and a likely deep playoff run. There is not much more to say. They play in a weak division, and the Bucs have an amazing roster. In addition to this, Brady will want to add to his record seven Super Bowl rings by taking another Super Bowl.
Other Contenders
Some other teams I can see making a run to the top of their division or at least a wild card spot are the New York Giants, Los Angeles Rams, Miami Dolphins and San Diego Chargers. All these teams play in tough divisions and can easily contend with the teams I picked to win.I think the Giants could win due to their weak schedule and return of superstar running back, Saquon Barkley. The Rams made some big offseason moves, trading for veteran quarterback Mathew Stafford, who I can see improve their offense tremendously. Finally, the Dolphins and Chargers could easily succeed this season because both teams have strong young cores led by up and coming quarterbacks, Tua Tagovailoa and Justin Herbert.
