Women’s Soccer
The Pacers were phenomenal this week, breaking the school record for defensive consecutive scoreless minutes. They have not let up a goal in 671 minutes of play, which dates back to Sept. 28. Starting off the week, Marywood dominated Gwynedd Mercy with a 5-0 victory. Josephine Sorce was the leading scorer for the Pacers, tallying two goals, as well as an assist. On Saturday, the Pacers took on Pratt Institute on their Senior Day. It’s safe to say that the Pacers did not disappoint. Sorce and Riley Mulherin had dominant performances both recording hat tricks, leading Marywood to a 10-0 blowout victory over Pratt. Marywood looks to wrap up regular season play this Wednesday versus Immaculata.
Men’s Soccer
Coming off a few losses and ties, the Pacers were looking to get back on track. They did that exactly this week shutting out both Gwynedd Mercy on Senior Day and Pratt Institute in the week. The Pacers were hot, outscoring their opponents 7-0 between both contests. Danny Gomez led the charge scoring three of the seven goals. After Beating Gwynedd Mercy, 3-0, and Pratt Institute, 4-0, Marywood looks to close out the regular season with another win on Wednesday against Immaculata.
Field Hockey
The Pacers picked up two big conference wins this week, extending their conference record to 4-0. Marywood brought its best effort against Manhattanville and brought home a 9-0 victory on the road, scoring their most goals of the season. On Saturday, the Pacers hosted Gwynedd Mercy for their Senior Day. The seniors were able to get it done, winning 4-2. Marywood looks to finish out their regular season with a win against the College of New Jersey on Wednesday.
Volleyball
Marywood came into the tri-match this weekend trying to redeem themselves after losing 0-3 to Albright College. They were able to take the first match 3-1, with all three sets won by a large margin. Quickly after, the Pacers had some troubles against Marymount and were held to 17 points or less in all three sets. The playoff picture is still open for the Pacers after splitting during the tri-match this weekend.
Swimming & Diving
The women’s team has shown some promise so far, winning its first two meets by very large margins. This weekend they had some difficulty with their opponents Hartwick College and Ramapo College, dropping both meets. The men’s team has not had the start that they have imagined dropping all four meets so far by significant margins, but look to bounce back next weekend against Juniata College and Franciscan University.
