The Pacers started their week traveling to Elmira College to face the Soaring Eagles. Marywood kept pace with them, before a fourth quarter collapse led to their second consecutive loss, 59-51. Olivia Ciullo and Stephanie Klemick led Marywood’s offense, with 13 and 12 points respectively.
Following the defeat, the Pacers returned home to host the Delaware Valley University Aggies, on Salute to Service Day. After a tightly contested first half, Marywood pulled away, gaining a large enough lead to clinch their fifth home win, 71-60. Junior guard Mia Blume was perfect with shooting, making all seven attempts, with five from deep, finishing the afternoon with 19 points, while Ciullo notched her second double-double of the season, scoring 16 points and grabbing 12 rebounds.
Men’s Basketball
Coming out of the Thanksgiving break, Marywood traveled to New York City to face the 10th ranked NYU Violets. Despite falling behind 7-0 in the opening three minutes, the Pacers stuck with NYU, heading into halftime down by six. The second half was less favorable for Marywood, as the Violets would batter the Pacers, handing them their third loss of the season, 82-57. Collin Himmelberg led the way with 15 points off the bench.
Returning home to celebrate our service members, Marywood welcomed I-81 rivals King’s College to Insalaco Arena. The Pacers repeated the opening couple minutes of their previous game, falling behind by seven quickly, before keeping up with King’s. Marywood played keep up the majority of the second half, before a last second Himmelberg three forced overtime. Midway through the overtime period, Himmelberg would drill another game-tying three, before a pair of makes from Mason Mendygral and Shilo Bivins would drive a large enough wedge for Marywood to return to the win column, 81-79. Himmelberg was once again exceptional off the bench, setting career highs in points (24) and rebounds (nine)
