The 2025 draft is exactly two months and one day away. The WNBA will host the draft in April. The Dallas Wings have the first pick for the 2025 draft and are trying to get UConn guard Paige Bueckers, who is averaging 18.7 points per game and shooting 41.6% behind the arc. The second pick in the mock draft is Notre Dame guard Olivia Miles. Miles averages 16.5 points per game and 6.4 assists. The third pick is the Chicago Sky looking at fellow Notre Dame guard Sonia Citron. Citron is averaging 12.9 points per game, 5.3 rebounds per game and just under three assists. For the fourth pick, the Washington Mystics are looking at Dominique Malonga, who played for France in the Olympics. Malonga is a 6 feet 6 inch center, who is only 19 years old. The Golden State Valkyries, who have the fifth pick, are looking at USC forward Kiki Iriafen, who’s averaging 17.7 points and 8.2 rebounds per game.
In the 2023-24 season, the New York Liberty led the league and Eastern Conference with a record of 32-8. On Feb. 1, the franchise re-signed guard Kennedy Burke. Kennedy Burke is very versatile as a guard-forward and has made her a valuable asset to her teams. She previously played for the Indiana Fever, Seattle Storm and Washington Mystics.
The second ranked team of the league and first in the Western Conference, the Minnesota Lynx re-signed Natasha Hiedeman, on Feb. 1. In January of last year, Hiedeman was traded to the Minnesota Lynx in exchange for Tiffany Mitchell and the 19th pick in the 2024 WNBA Draft.The Lynx signed French Center Mariene Badiane.
The Connecticut Sun is the third ranked team in the Eastern Conference with a 28-12 record. The franchise is re-signing all-time rebound leader and league legend Tina Charles. Charles was named the 2012 MVP of the WNBA, earning 25 of 41 first place votes. She led the league in the number of double-doubles recorded, and set the mark for the fastest player in WNBA history to reach 900, 1,000 and 1,100 rebounds.
For the fourth ranked team in the league and second ranked in the western conference, the Las Vegas Aces were 27-13 last season. The Las Vegaas Aces welcomed two-time WNBA champion and six-time All Star Jewell Loyd in a three team trade and along with that trade the Aces traded their 13th pick of the 2025 draft from the Las Angeles Sparks.
The final ranked team is the Seattle Storm, after a season that saw them finish with a record of 25-15. The Storm grabbed the second pick in the 2025 draft and scored Olympic center Li Yueru, in a multi-team trade with the Las Vegas Aces. The Storm also received Las Vegas’ first round pick in the 2026 draft.
