Men’s Basketball
Starting off the week, Brandon Reed was named to the Atlantic East Conference Honor Roll, after putting together two straight solid performances in the team’s losses to Gwynedd Mercy University and Pratt Institute.
After a week-long hiatus, Marywood honored their seven seniors, prior to their penultimate regular season contest, against the Marymount Saints. The Pacers were playing catchup from the first few minutes, as Marymount would claim the advantage and take their lead into halftime, ahead by eight. Marywood continued to whittle away, as Trevor Seitz drained a three, bringing the game within two points, before Brendon Franko would knot it up at 60 each, with just under two minutes remaining. Marymount would match Franko’s free throws, regaining a two point lead. After a failed offensive possession from both sides, Marywood called a timeout. After going through the progression of the designed play, Seitz took a three-point shot from way beyond the arc, draining to take the lead and steal victory from the Saints grasp, 63-62.
Women’s Basketball
Following a dominating win against Gwynedd Mercy, Olivia Ciullo was named Atlantic East Conference Player of the Week, after scoring a career high 30 points. Along with Ciullo, Stephanie Klemick was named to the AEC Honor Roll, after assisting a career high nine Pacers basketballs, matching her career high five steals, grabbing six rebounds and swatting three Griffins shots.
Returning to action, Marywood hosted Marymount University, with the Pacers grasping onto the fifth seed in the conference in their final home game. Marywood’s offense was clicking out of the gate, connecting on three three-pointers off the hands of Rachel McDonald and Alli Griscavage. The offense fell quiet just before halftime, but the defense stayed stout, holding a five point lead. The Saints and Pacers would fight for the lead in the third, with Marymount clinging onto a one point advantage before the fourth. The Saints wouldn’t relinquish the lead, as Marywood would drop their final regular season game at Insalaco Arena, 55-45.
Women’s Lacrosse
To kick off their 2025 campaign, Marywood traveled south, opening the year against Washington College of Maryland. The Shorewoman took the lead, as they scored thrice in the opening minute, setting the tone for the remainder of the game. As halftime came, Marywood was down by a bunch, trailing 16-4. The second half margin was not quite as big, though the lead was insurmountable, as the Pacers would drop their season opener 24-7.
Men’s Swimming and Diving
Wrapping up their season with the Atlantic East Conference Championships, Marywood traveled south to meet the four opposing AEC schools. No Pacers medaled, with the highest finish being Alex McCarey’s fifth place result in the 200-meter backstroke. The Pacers finished fourth, just nine points behind Immaculata University.
Women’s Swimming and Diving
The women’s swimming and diving team was one of six vying for the AEC title. The team totaled four top-five placements, with Tori Sills clinching fifth in the 200-meter backstroke, Aubrey Mangan placing fourth in the 200-meter breast and Sam Peck having the other two, finishing fourth in butterfly and fifth in 1650-meter freestyle.
