Today Vice Presidential Candidate and Governor of Minnesota Tim Walz held a campaign rally here in Scranton PA. Located at the Scranton Cultural center at the Masonic Temple, the rally featured multiple speakers before the vp candidate made his remarks. Some of the speakers included Scranton Mayor Paige Gebhardt Cognetti, and State Senator Marty Flynn of Dunmore who both emphasized the importance of voting and encouraging others to get out and vote. During Governor Walz’s remarks at least three protestors were escorted out of the rally by campaign staff and law enforcement for shouting free Palestine and asking for an arms embargo to Israel. Walz focused his speech on relating to the middle class and protecting democracy and various democratic freedoms including education and abortion.
