As a freshman at Marywood University, one of the big talks has been about the food at Nazareth Dining Hall. Most people say that the food is either just OK at best or outright don’t like it.
After trying the dining hall, there needs to be someone who defends the food.
Not only is the food very underappreciated, but as a bodybuilder who works out consistently, it is extremely convenient for a post-workout meal. After a workout, refueling my body with the food at “Naz” saves me time that would be spent making a 30-minute commute to eat or spending money on fast food, that wouldn’t serve as a good post-workout meal.
Not only is the food at Nazareth convenient, it is also cheaper than many alternate options. Using Pacer Points, a meal is under $14, with Tuesdays and Thursday having a commuter discount.
Another perk about the dining hall is that the cost is for entry, not per meal. Having the ability to have a variety of options and the ability to get multiple portions makes the price a steal.
As for the convenient food, such as chicken tenders and fries, they are solid options for a quick bite. However, Nazareth has plenty of food that helps bodybuilders meet their macro requirements.
One of the better dishes for a post-workout meal is the “Power Protein Bowl,” which for about 700 calories is full of protein and carbs to refuel the energy exerted. As for beverages, Nazareth has multiple low-to-zero calorie drink options, such as diet sodas and fruit-infused waters.
While the food at Nazareth may not be for everyone, this place gets a lot of unwarranted hate. For a commuter and bodybuilder, it provides consumers with variety and nutrients to feel satisfied and refueled.
