The” Bachelor” and “Bachelorette” are well known for having drama and obviously need some to keep things interesting. However, when it comes to the season finales of the Bachelor and Bachelorette, I’m over the drama at that point. Realistically, the finale can be two hours long just like every other episode.
Fans are starting to complain about the Bachelor Franchise finale’s three-hour run time. There is a lot of filler content and it takes forever to get to the winner chosen. I recorded it because the finale was on until 11 and I’m not going to destroy my sleep schedule for a bunch of filler with a brief few minutes revealing the winner and where the couple is now.
The segments are fairly useless, such as former bachelors and bachelorettes giving advice to the current bachelor/bachelorette, which is a ridiculous segment because the current one can’t hear them. A lot of it is also catching up with some former bachelors or bachelorette during the season, and flashbacking.
They typically also announce the new bachelor/bachelorette during the finales of both series but they broke that rule this season and the previous season. During the previous season, they announced Grant Ellis as the new bachelor for this current season during the Men Tell All. Whereas, they didn’t announce a new bachelorette during this season. Instead they announced a new twist for “Bachelor in Paradise” which isn’t a great idea.
The fact that they didn’t announce a bachelorette, made an already pointlessly long finale more pointless. Because some of the finale cuts between the decision between the last two men/women standing at the end and the most is made up of random segments, the finale can accomplish everything it needs to in two hours by cutting out filler content.
I really hope they make this change to future finales because while I understand building up suspense, it’s far too long to wait.
